The Western Sydney Wanderers were unable to maintain a 1-0 lead in their Asian Champions League debut against Ulsan Hyundai, losing 3-1 to the Koreans last Wednesday night. The Wanderers managed to score the opening goal in the first few minutes off a wonderful strike from Brendon Santalab.
Ulsan Hyundai responded with three goals to secure their victory.
Following their loss to the Korean team, the Wanderers were unable to score against the Newcastle Jets on Sunday night, losing 2-0. This result left the Wanderers on 34 points on the A League ladder and maintaining their second place spot.
The Wanderers will face Sydney FC on Saturday night in the Round 22 derby of the Hyndai A League on Saturday night, where both sides will be looking to take home the three points.
