The Wanderers created more chances in the second half and coach Tony Popovic brought on strikers Nikita Rukavytsya and Tomi Juric in the hope of scoring a last minute goal, but the Roar held on to secure the three points.

Western Sydney play in their next A-League match against rivals Melbourne Victory at Pirtek Stadium on Friday night.

Is Tony Popovic still the right man to coach the Western Sydney Wanderers?
